Future of culture in the theoretical heritage of P.A.Sorokin
In the paper the views of P.A.Sorokin on problems of modern cultural crisis and future of culture have been considered. The author underlines the doubtless urgency of study of this problematics in interpretation of Sorokin, shows the value of social and cultural approach to the reality which is so characteristic for this thinker. In the paper the attempt of comparison of Sorokin concept with those of N.Ya.Danilevsky, Рђ.J.Toynbee, J.Ortega-y-Gasset has been undertaken.

Education, social risks and human development
In the paper the attempt to consider education as a factor of social risks' decreasing has been undertaken. Distinguishing the natural risks and society caused risks, the author substantiates an important role of education in decreasing of risks, connected with decision making and non-readiness of society for considerable social changes. The author underlines that increasing social risks emphasize the problem of education contents, its value orientation. The tasks of development of the human potential of the society cause the necessity of including such component as social education in educational practice.

Education as an element of strategy of the information society development
This paper analyses education in the context of significant social changes related to the information society formation. The educational strategies in the postindustrial countries as well as the contemporary (modern) trends of education internationalization have been considered. The special emphasis has been put on the problem of prospective development of universities as information society elements.

On the cultural mission of the modern university
In the paper some aspects of contemporary understanding of university mission have been analyzed. The author has emphasized the contradictions of the process of university functioning as a traditional element of European culture under the conditions of globalization and multiculturalism. In the paper the vision of contemporary university as a multicultural community model has been grounded.
